NEW AGE OF WORKBOAT DESIGN

The recent launch of navy tug ‘Bolko’ (B860/1) marks an important milestone in NED-Project’s history of delivering modern and reliable workboat designs. It is the first in a series of six on an order from the Ministry of Defence, built in Remontowa Shipbuilding and also first developed with the help of innovative implementation of enhanced reality design tools.

NED-PROJECT AS A GOOD REFERENCE

In 2017, Morska Stocznia Remontowa Gryfia (Marine Shiprepair Yard Gryfia) entered a project for the Regional Water Management Board in Gdansk. The objective of the first phase of the project was to provide the designs for two types of icebreaker vessels. Since the project was carried out following the provisions on public procurement and because it was largely financed from EU funds, the contractor had to demonstrate appropriate facilities as well as personnel and competence references.

NED-PROJECT IN THE WORLD OF SALVAGE

The accident of the cruise ship Costa Concordia off the coast of Isola del Giglio in January 2013 shook the entire world. It was an unfortunate combination of events and human factor that led to the disaster which cost the lives of over 30 people. It triggered the introduction of changes in the regulations of the International Maritime Organization aimed at the improvement of safety on ships.
